Certificate
The Certificate III in Upholstery provides apprentices with comprehensive production and traditional upholstery training in all practical and theoretical aspects of the trade .
As this is an apprenticeship delivery, all students must have an employer and a valid Apprenticeship Contract in place prior to commencement.
Although not compulsory, successful completion of Year 10 is recommended.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to have Epsilon registration and signed contract with an employer, signed training plan, complete a literacy and numeracy assessment (BKSB) and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verity your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
You will learn to perform upholstery including dismantling and reassembling furniture and selecting, cutting, sewing and fitting fabric and leather upholstery materials.
When you complete the course, you will be creating new masterpieces and have the skills to return old furniture to its former glory.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
