Certificate
The Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling provides comprehensive training to apprentices for wall and floor tiling, and covers all practical and theoretical aspects of the trade.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Training agreement with a registered employer from a relevant industry. Preference may be given to students who have completed a pre-apprenticeship in a related field.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
You will receive hands-on training from industry experienced teachers, train in excellent training facilities and gain practical experience on full scale projects.
Much of wall and floor tiling work is straightforward, but it often requires skill and judgement. You must understand working drawings of buildings and be able to apply basic mathematics.
Wall and floor tilers also do more complicated tiling work such as mosaics, curved walls and pools and spas. These jobs require training, ability and experience. As a wall and floor tiler, you can work on commercial and domestic projects.
Your work is an art and will stand for many years, with your skills in demand.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
