This course is recommended for learners seeking registration in the relevant categories of a domestic builder limited license. It is advisable for learners to have completed at least Year 11 and have a strong desire to work in the building and construction industry.

Prospective students should also understand that successful completion of this course may lead to employment opportunities that require outdoor work, work at heights, or underground work and may involve physical labour.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

The strength of the program lies in its flexibility to adapt content to cover residential, industrial and commercial low rise construction with special attention to current industry practices and processes.

Upon completion, students can expect to have the knowledge and skills required of a builder, site manager, foreman on a residential project or low rise commercial project.

This qualification is acceptable to the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) for registration in some of the classifications for Domestic Builder Limited (DB-L). The qualification can support relevant registration in other states and territories.
