Applicants for the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security program must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or be of mature age.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Have a strong interest in cyber security and possess adequate digital literacy skills.
All applicants must undertake a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test. This test will be administered via Holmesglen. You must achieve a minimum exit level three (3), working at level four (4) in Numeracy and Literacy
Holmesglen also requires that all applicants possess the following abilities:
* turn on a computer
* connect to the internet
* use a mouse, keyboard, headset with microphone or speakers and webcam
* open and close a software application
* conduct a search in a web browser
* send and receive emails
* save a file, and locate a saved file
* download and install software application.
* use webinar software to participate in remote learning
Learners opting to BYOD or intending to learn remotely will require access to a PC computer or laptop with the following minimum specification:

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a Pre Training Review interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.
Holmesglen's Certificate IV in Cyber Security has been developed to provide you with practical skills in identifying and reporting system vulnerabilities, website and system threats, evaluating and reporting cyber security incidents, and securing PC and mobile devices.
You'll also gain skills in penetration testing, networking fundamentals, network security basics, and firewall installation, configuration, and management.
You'll learn about what's involved in working as part of an incident response team, web security, programming in Python, and organisational policies and processes for cyber security.

This program is delivered in a hybrid format, enabling learners to attend either in person on campus or remotely through scheduled live WebEx sessions, following the provided timetable. Mandatory attendance is recorded and monitored.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
