Entry requirements

Applicants must demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessment area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification. Applicants must have recent industry experience within the last 2-5 years.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. Applicants will also be required to attend an on-campus interview and where they will need to complete a shorthand written literacy exercise.

These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

The inclusion of the elective unit, Work with Diverse People, supports the development of fundamental adult learning theories required by trainers and assessors to meet the learning needs of a diverse range of learners studying vocational education.

The course offers students the opportunity to learn and develop skill and knowledge as a trainer and assessor through a face-to-face classroom interaction and engagement.

Credit for prior study or work

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
