The Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry is designed to ensure workers have the skills and knowledge required for the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar water systems. We are no longer accepting applications for this course.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Applicants wishing to enter this qualification will be electricians, plumbers, building practitioners, trades assistants and apprentices across these industries who install solar panel/water collectors.
Minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
Licensed electricians (A Grade) must have:

Apply OH&S requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
Provide First Aid
CEC Grid Connect Accreditation and/or stand alone accreditation
Registered plumbers must hold the following units of competency:

The 22515VIC- Working Safely in the Solar Industry Course is designed for CEC Accredited Electricians, Licensed Electricians, Plumbers, Trades Assistants and Apprentices who work in the solar industry installing PV systems connected to the grid or solar water systems or heat pumps.
The course aims to ensure workers understand required industry health and safety standards and the implications of safety hazards that may arise whilst working on roofs in the workplace.
This Course is part of the Victorian Government's Free TAFE initiative. Learners who are eligible for a government subsidised place will not be charged a Tuition fee.
