Entry requirements

Applicants for the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking) program must have prior basic skills and knowledge to:
configure, install and manage a small network
configure, install and manage a small wireless network
introductory skills in installing and configuring computer equipment and connecting to a network
setting up a network server
introductory knowledge and skills in installing and configuring virtual machines.
or
attainment of Certificate IV in Information Technology, or equivalent qualification with electives in networking and cyber security, ICT40418 Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking, ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking), or 22334VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security.


Applicants intending to learn remotely will require access to a computer or laptop with the following minimum specifications: Quad-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM, 4GHz processor or faster, 250GB of storage
PC Monitor 24" (dual monitor optional but preferred)
Headset/earphones with microphone (webcam optional but preferred)

You will gain the industry knowledge and skills required to design, build and manage large complex networks and network security infrastructure, as a network administrator or network security manager. Your networking and security expertise will be highly valued as you take on specialist ICT networking and system security projects, including internetworking, e-business integrations, virtualisation, network security and cyber security.

You will build and hone your knowledge and skills through completing practical industry-based projects, designing and implementing integrated enterprise solutions in network security, network communications, wireless, virtualisation and cyber security infrastructure.
