What you will learn

You will learn the skills to develop games such as Virtual Reality (VR), first-person shooters, racing games, real-time strategy games, third-person shooters, role-playing games, side-scrolling games, mobile games, and many more.

Just like the games industry, you will work in teams to develop game prototypes and final products for a range of platforms. When your game has been thoroughly tested, you will publish it on your favourite gaming platforms, including Android, iOS, Virtual Reality, PC, Mac, and have the potential to publish to consoles like Xbox and PlayStation. This course includes the opportunity to be involved in the development of an industry-based project for Liminal VR, a Melbourne-based VR developer. Successful projects are published on the Liminal platform and are available via the Oculus store.

To facilitate an industry-standard game you will learn to work with C# programming and apply 3D artwork techniques, including advanced character design, prop design, environment design, animation and visual effects. You will also build skills in 3D sculpting software to an industry standard, and model and texture 3D game assets, allowing you to create stunning realistic models and textures for 3D games.
