The Diploma of Information Technology Networking prepares you to work in a networking and systems administrative role in small to large companies.
No entry requirements for this qualification as per the Training Package.
Holmesglen does require learners who undertake this program have basic prior knowledge in the following area:
* ability to save a file to a specified location
* ability to send and receive emails
* ability to search for specific information using a web browser and search engine
* confidence in turning on a computer, opening an application, and completing a specified task
* confidence in printing information
* ability to follow instructions to install software
* introductory knowledge of computer networks
* introductory skills in installing and configuring computer networks
* introductory knowledge and skills in installing and configuring virtual machines
Applicants intending to learn remotely will require access to:
A PC computer or Android laptop with the following minimum specification:
Quad Core CPU
* 8GB of RAM
* 200GB of Storage
* Operating System: Windows 10
* PC Monitor 24" ( dual monitor optional but preferred)
* Head set microphone (webcam optional but preferred)
* Remote learners will require access to Internet

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Your digital and computer skills will be determined and confirmed during the pre-training review and interview.
Through this course, you will gain the industry knowledge and skills required to work on large complex networks as a network technician or a network manager. Your networking expertise will be highly valued as you take on specialist ICT networking projects, including internetworking, e-business integrations, virtualisation and network security.
The Diploma of Information Technology Networking also provides you with the opportunity to become a member of the Cisco Academy, VMware Academy and Fortinet Academy.
While working on Industry-based projects you will have the opportunity to develop in-depth understanding of networking, virtualisation, and project management business problems and develop and implement realistic industry solutions.
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
