Diploma
The Diploma of Sport is delivered in conjunction with the St Kilda Football Club to prepare you for a career in the sports industry. You will learn how to plan and implement high-performance training, coaching and recovery programs, and how to support athletes to adopt the principles of sports psychology.
To be eligible students must be at least 16 years of age.
Students should have the physical capacity to work in a variety of Australian sports industries, while making sure they comply with all manual handling work health and safety legislation.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
Practical placement is a key component of this qualification. This is a structured program designed to give all students 'hands-on' experience prior to entering the industry. Practical placement is designed to bridge the gap between study and employment.
This program has compulsory activities/materials as part of the learning experience. The department will confirm the cost of these activities/materials prior to enrolment. You will be required to provide a Working with Children Check.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
