The Diploma of Work Health and Safety will assist you in effective WHS risk management and train you to lead response and incident investigation. You will also learn to develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability and the environment.
A good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is recommended*
Minimum 18 Years of age*
All BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety core units or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent.
BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response
Prior to enrollment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify and learning support needs.

The Diploma of Work Health and Safety is for people managing, coordinating and maintaining the work health and safety (WHS) program or the Occupational/Work Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS/WHSMS) in an organisation.
The units of competency contained in this qualification will assist participants in managing the expectations of the ISO45001, AS/NZS4801, AS/NZS9001 and the AS/NZS14001.
Our diploma course also contains the BSBWHS512 Contribute to managing work related psychological health and safety. This gives participants a thorough understanding of how to manage the risks associated with mental health in the workplace.
The course will help you develop your management and leadership skills. You will learn how to manage WHS procedures, quality systems and how to streamline processes to minimise risks associated with work related operations.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
