The Grid Connected PV with Battery Storage course provides nationally accredited training for electricians in the installation of grid connected PV battery storage systems.
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
This program is for qualified A-Grade electricians with a CEC accreditation for Design and Install Grid Connected PV Systems.
Holmesglen requires all learners to be a qualified electrician or hold an 'Unrestricted Electrician's Licence' or equivalent, issued in an Australian state or territory; and hold accreditation in Design and Install Grid Connected PV Systems, or have provisional Solar Accreditation with the Clean Energy Council.
Holmesglen recommends secondary Year 11 level numeracy and literacy or successful completion of vocational certificate/s to be suitable for this course.
The course blends online learning with practical face-to-face on-campus workshops. Students are required to complete online study and attend a series of on-campus practical workshop sessions. The online study and on-campus sessions are delivered in parallel, by one course instructor.
Training is delivered at Holmesglen's Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence, Australia's premier facility for delivering nationally accredited training in solar energy. A $2.1 million upgrade, fully funded by the Victorian Government, to our renewable energy training facilities has just been completed and includes the installation of new solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations at the Moorabbin campus. This gives learners hands-on experience using premium equipment and technologies and experience with commercial systems, and provides Holmesglen with the capacity to train workers for Victoria's clean energy future.
