The Advanced Diploma of applied fashion design and merchandising has been designed to give you the skills required to work as an Independent Fashion Designer, as part of a design team or in the field of Design Management. The course can also be tailored to provide you with learning in the fields of advanced patternmaking, product development and the management of fashion design systems.

There are no set prerequisites for this course. However it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. OR You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)
This course may lead to employment as a Fashion Designer, Advanced Patternmaker, Grader, Production Manager, Quality Coordinator Technical Designer, Garment Technician , small business operator, Fashion buyer, Fashion Journalist , Coutourier, Ready to wear designer, Product Developer , Marketing and MerchandisinG, Illustrator, Supply Chain and Sustainable Fashion.
