Learn the Tools of the Trade
This course will train you to work as a diesel engine technician, working on fixed machinery such as plant generators and pumping stations. You will gain skills to carry out diagnostic procedures, service, and repair and overhaul engines and associated components, repair and service cooling systems, diesel fuel systems, emission control systems and air compressors/components.
If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.
If you are enrolling in this course as a NON apprentice, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.
Entry Requirements
Can I Apply?
Satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills. You must be at least 15 years old at the time of application. This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway. You may participate in this course while searching for suitable employment but you will need to complete extra practical work at further cost if you do not secure a workplace.

How Will I Be Selected?
Apprentice/Trainees - You will need to have an employer and then contact an Australian Apprentice Support Network office to sign a training contract.
Non-Apprentices - To apply for this course you must fill in a direct application form through the "Apply Now" button above. We will then be in contact to arrange an interview to discuss your work experience and suitability for the course.
