Designed to simulate working in the music industry, this course is project based, and designed to help you focus on your intended career in the industry, and to help you take the first steps towards building that career.

Through the duration of the course, you will work on your own personal music project which can range from creating an original EP, starting a music school or managing music events. Your choices are not limited to those listed. If you have an idea, we are here to help you develop that with help from our industry expert educators and music networks.

Upon completion of the course, you will have:

  • A business plan
  • A media kit
  • Professional recording of your music

While working on your project you will have one-on-one mentoring and will also study the following:

  • Composing music
  • Developing stagecraft skills
  • Recording sound
  • Mixing recorded music
  • Performing music as a soloist
  • Arranging Music
  • Performance ensemble techniques
  • Learning how to teach your instrument
  • Participating in live showcases and recitals

Entry requirements

There are no set prerequisites for this course. However it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. OR You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)
