About this course

This degree complements a professional accounting qualification with the study of economic theory and practice. The professional accounting component offers learning in career-specific areas including accounting, auditing, finance, business law, public sector accounting and taxation. Successful completion of the appropriate subjects fulfils the membership requirements for CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA). Students enrolled in this course have an opportunity to participate in an accounting work placement. The economics component covers microeconomics, macroeconomics and economic history as well as the application of economics to policy issues. Admission requirements are VCE units 3 and 4 and a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English and Mathematics (any) with a study score of at least 20. Applicants with comparable qualifications will be considered. A limited number of students may also be considered under Special Entry Schemes.
