La Trobe’s Bachelor of Agriculture and Technology is one of the few agriculture degrees in Australia with a practical focus. Specially designed with industry input, graduates of this degree are prepared to meet the needs of an industry currently being transformed by technology and digital disruption. Choose from specialisations such as agronomy, equine studies, sports turf science and management or  viticulture and winemaking; and complete an agricultural studies major alongside core subjects from these specialisation. Alternatively you have the option to tailor subjects around your unique career goal or pathway. Delivered in partnership with Melbourne Polytechnic, the course combines classroom and online learning, with practical study opportunities. You’ll gain hands-on experience in Melbourne Polytechnic’s labs and facilities, including the wireless sensor platforms onsite at Melbourne Polytechnic farms. During your three-year degree you'll have the opportunity to complete an industry placement, and depending on your specialisation you'll gain experience learning on-site in wineries, vineyards, laboratories, equestrian facilities and commercially operated firms.
