Bachelor (Honours)
The Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) is a one-year full time course that allows you to build on your knowledge and accomplishments obtained in the Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Biomedical Science.

By completing an Honours year, you'll be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the field of biomedical science.
You'll conduct your own research project under the supervision and mentorship of La Trobe's expert staff, plus you'll gain exposure to cutting-edge biotechnology techniques through lectures and workshops conducted by La Trobe's leading researchers and in-field scientists.
To complement your research, you'll extend your essential scientific communication and presentation skills through seminars, projects and oral examinations.
Gain the advanced skills you'll need to successfully design and implement scientific investigations, analyse and interpret data and communicate scientific findings to a variety of audiences. You'll graduate prepared to enter the job market or pursue postgraduate studies.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 8 - Bachelor Degree Honours.

Honours is also the best foundation for a postgraduate coursework degree, a higher degree by research or a career in academia. Complete the Honours program with distinction, and you could qualify for entry into the Masters by Research. If you're a high achiever, you could gain direct entry into a PhD.
