This degree is designed for high-achieving students who wish to undertake further studies in accounting. It is an additional year of study after completing the undergraduate degree and is open only to those students who have excelled in their undergraduate studies. A degree with Honours demonstrates a superior level of academic achievement and specialised research skills. The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) (Honours) program allows you to pursue an academically demanding topic or question of professional relevance at a depth significantly greater than possible in the Bachelor degree program. The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) (Honours) program is intended to promote the academic progress of able students who show promise of benefiting from postgraduate work and provides a foundation for further study at the Masters and Doctoral levels and the opportunity for advanced professional employment. The entry requirements are successful completion of a Bachelor degree with a major in accounting and a B (70 per cent) or better average result in at least six second- and third-year subjects in accounting (at least 50 per cent at third-year level). Students must complete all requirements of their undergraduate degree before commencing Honours. The Honours program requires a further year of full-time study or two years of part-time study following completion of the Bachelor degree. Honours is not available at the Mildura, Shepparton, Bendigo or Albury-Wodonga campuses.
