About this course

This four-year degree is offered to high-ATAR students who want to become professional psychologists, go on to research or build a career in a psychology-related field. Please note: This course is not designed for applicants who have completed a psychology degree accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). You are not eligible to apply for this course and are recommended to apply for SHPS-Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours. For further information, please visit our Psychology Honours page. In your first three years, you'll gain an understanding of clinical psychology, abnormal and health psychology, behavioural neuroscience, social psychology, cognition, developmental psychology, and psychological interventions. You can choose from a wide range of elective subjects, focusing on areas like clinical practice, clinical neuroscience, human-animal relations, cultural psychology and global citizenship. You'll have opportunities to learn about the work of professional psychologists, including those associated with our psychology clinic, and take a full subject on Autism Spectrum Disorders taught by specialists from the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre. You can also apply to complete a psychology-related field placement.
