About this course

The Bachelor of Strategic Communication is an industry-focused degree which covers subjects in public relations, and marketing (including social marketing). The degree consists of 360 credit points that can be completed in three years of full-time study. Part-time enrolment is also available. Subjects in strategic communication will cover issues and crisis management, community relations, government relations and internal communications. Subjects will address the use of social media and emerging platforms such as mobile media, as well as emphasise writing for broadcast and print. The third year of the degree is structured around internships and other professional work opportunities it will provide in a client based agency on campus. The degree is designed to prepare students for careers in the growth sectors of public relations, and strategic communications. Students will develop the skills to implement overall communication objectives, strategies and tactics with ethics and integrity. The course will provide a balance of theory and practice. * Students who have not successfully completed the core/compulsory first-year subjects will need to contact Debra Amarant for further advice. Note: LTU0AIMis a not-for-credit subject which students are required to complete at the commencement of their first semester. The subject is designed to enhance the students' knowledge and awareness of issues concerning academic integrity.
