Masters (Coursework)
This specialised program provides you with training in the practice of art therapy, which combines art and counselling within a clinical, therapeutic or community context. Art therapy is used for the treatment and healing of developmental, emotional and psychological problems or disorders. It is also used as a wellbeing intervention for groups and communities experiencing distress.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.

Graduates are qualified to practise as art therapists in clinical settings including hospitals, community health programs and rehabilitation services. Graduates can also find work in education and psychiatric settings and in aged care, palliative and forensic centres. You'll help people with varied healthcare needs including those dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders and in rehabilitation.
Professional recognitionThe Master of Art Therapy is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Graduates of the Master of Art Therapy may apply for registration with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree.
