Generalist psychologists are equipped to practice in a broad range of employment settings, including allied health, aged care and disability services, education and private practice. Treating people with mental health problems as well as seeking to understand how factors such as personality, society and culture affect behaviour – and provide counselling that can help people from all walks of like lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.
This webinar will provide an overview of the Master of Professional Psychology which equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills you needed to complete a final, sixth year of supervised placement and gain registration as a generalist psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Through undertaking a blend of coursework and supervised placements, you’ll be prepared for effective, ethical psychology practice in a broad range of contexts and settings.

Associate Professor Andrew Baillie is registered psychologist with an endorsement in clinical psychology and a board approved clinical supervisor. He is a member of the Centre of Emotional Health at Macquarie University. He also holds an honorary appointment as a clinical psychologist at Drug Health Services, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He has published on anxiety disorders and comorbidity with alcohol use disorders from an assessment, treatment and epidemiological perspective.
