What you will learn

During the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) course, you will develop expert knowledge and understanding of child learning and development, as well as professional practice in early childhood settings. Your studies will cover the multi-disciplinary fields of care, education and health. You will also gain skills in professional practice across the primary years, with a specific focus on literacy, numeracy and science teaching. The Master of Teaching will help you develop your interventionist educational skills through the evidence-based teaching framework. The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) has been approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). This allows you to qualify for provisional registration and work in Australian schools and early childhood education and care settings with children aged birth to twelve years. The Master of Teaching program will also benefit in other career areas such as government (policy reform), research and community roles. Community opportunities include children's services coordination, youth health and wellbeing, assessment and evaluation and quality regulation and assessment.
