You will be qualified to work in a range of different roles in the disability sector such as lifestyle support officer, senior personal care assistant, behavioural support officer, disability team leader, day support disability officer and senior disability worker. You can also choose to further your skills by completing the Diploma of Community Services.
You'll graduate from this course with the skills needed to work independently and coordinate a small team within the disability sector.
You can seek Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where your work experience or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. RPL is individually assessed based on evidence submitted by the student to the teaching department. Applications for RPL will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic trainers, academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
