She has worked as a lawyer in Australia and overseas, practising in a range of areas, including personal injury litigation, family violence, criminal law and family law. Kate is passionate about social justice and access to justice, particularly for disadvantaged and marginalised people.
Her research examines the experiences and needs of vulnerable populations. She has written extensively about some of the major social problems of our times, including addiction and family violence, and how the law deals with both. The podcast examines the social, cultural, political and legal aspects of Australian rules football, the place of sport within the Australian imagination, and the power of sport to be a force for social inclusion and positive social change.
