About this course

The Monash Basic Course in Aviation Medicine is run in conjunction with Qatar Airways and is designed in accordance with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations. It is appropriate for those doctors wishing to achieve EASA certification as an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) or to undertake basic training in aviation medicine. The role of an AME is to examine pilots and air traffic controllers for fitness to work.

The course runs for a total of 10 days (Sunday-Thursday Qatari time) and approximate start and finish time for each day is 8:00am-4:00pm, with the exception of the two offsite visits which may have a later finish time.

Students will be given a USB with course materials on Day 1 of the course. Please bring a device (laptop/ipad etc) to view the course material for the duration of the course.
