About this course

Overview

In this course, you'll graduate ready to work as a primary school teacher for Years 1 to 6, a primary school Health and Physical Education teacher, and a secondary Health and Physical Education teacher for Years 7 to 10.

You'll study areas of the primary curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, and the Arts.

You'll design, deliver and lead physical activities and sport development programs for juniors, either within a school or club and receive coaching accreditation in selected sports.

  • How to run a Sport Education program, including setting up and running sport sessions and participating in teams
  • How to coach a number of different sports in the Sport Practicum unit, being guided by expert mentors who are leaders in their fields
  • Creating and managing inclusive and effective learning environments

Career opportunities

When you graduate, you'll be qualified to teach children from Years 1-6 in primary schools and teach Health and Physical Education for students up to Year 10.
