The Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade must be completed as part of an apprenticeship, and upon successful completion, allows participants to work as a qualified boilermaker or welder. Apprentices will learn through a combination of on-the-job learning and block training at North Regional TAFE.

Participants will learn how to perform some of the following tasks:

Engineering measurements and computations
Mechanical cutting
Manual heating and thermal cutting
Fabrication, forming, shaping and assembling of components
Manual metal arc welding
Gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc welding
Technical drawing interpretation
Use of handheld and power tools
