Aged care is among the fastest growing industries in today's workforce and with an ageing population, this field will continue to expand in the coming years.

This qualification supports you to pursue a career in the aged care industry, where you will facilitate the empowerment, interests and rights of aged care clients. You will learn how to develop, facilitate and review individualised service planning and delivery within a residential, home and/or community-based environment.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to provide a range of specialised care to clients, including palliative, dementia and supporting older people at risk. You will learn how to support relationships with family and carers, manage legal and ethical compliance, undertake safe work practices and maintain collaborative networks and partnerships.

Please be aware that COVID-19 vaccination is an employment requirement for many healthcare providers. NRTAFE students undertaking work placements or who are required to attend a healthcare or community setting as part of their studies are advised to check directly with the healthcare provider regarding their policy settings around vaccination and proof of vaccination requirements.
