The Introduction to Direct Support skill set provides entry level training to get you job ready for employment as a direct support worker in aged care or disability services. You will learn practical skills to meet personal support needs, learn how to undertake manual tasks safely, and build your communication skills.
This skill set includes 70 hours of workplace experience which will give you the chance to apply your skills and knowledge in a real workplace, and prepare you for employment. The work experience placement will be coordinated by TAFE college or training provider you are enrolled with.
