Your health and safety is important to us.

Spaces are limited in face-to-face classes to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Additional hygiene protocols will be implemented and other controls may apply. Students must follow the directions of the lecturer to ensure the health and safety of all students and teaching staff.

This two day skill set provides participants with the skills required to use a marine radio correctly. This course is a mandatory requirement of the Coxswains and Master 24 Licenses issued by AMSA and DOT, and also results in the official Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) License issued by ACMA.

Students will learn about:

  • VHF, HF, UHF radios
  • Different stations and frequencies required for communication
  • Operating procedures for routine, distress, urgency and safety communications
  • Marine DSC techniques and procedures, public correspondences, Seaphone and
  • EPIRBs
  • Search and Rescue in Australia
  • Marine radio equipment basic trouble shooting and maintenance

Students are required to purchase book AMCMARINE Marine Radio Operator's Handbook Maritime 2013 AMC Marine 21.
