About this course

Your health and safety is important to us.

Spaces are limited in face-to-face classes to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Additional hygiene protocols will be implemented and other controls may apply. Students must follow the directions of the lecturer to ensure the health and safety of all students and teaching staff.

Asbestos is a hazardous material and its removal must be carried out by trained and experienced licensed operators.

Participants who complete this course will be able to supervise, manage and carry out asbestos work involving non-friable (bonded) asbestos-containing material.

Occupational Safety and Health Regulations require operators to have a Restricted Asbestos Licence if removing more than 10 square metres of bonded asbestos in a workplace. The licence will be valid for three years.

Upon course completion, those applying for a Restricted Asbestos Licence will be required to submit a written application to WorkSafe.

Applicants will be required to pay a fee and provide evidence of the ability to remove asbestos in a safe and proper manner, which can be demonstrated through the completion of this course.
