Bachelor
Your interior architecture degree begins with introductory impact lab units where working with students from other disciplines you'll address contemporary challenges and identify potential solutions through partnering with industry and the community.
Your studies will centre on design process theory and technology including 2D and 3D digital drafting. Building on these foundations you'll delve into design psychology and the sociocultural aspects of design as well as your choice of units from other areas of study.
Later in your degree you can transfer your skills and knowledge straight to the workplace and gain practical work experience with our work integrated learning program.

As an interior designer you may choose to work independently in a small or large practice or in a multidisciplinary firm specialising in large-scale architectural and property development projects either locally or overseas. Alternative career options include retail theatre and event design and exhibition design such as in a gallery or museum.
QUT interior design graduates qualify for Graduate Membership of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA). The Bachelor of Design (Interior Architecture) does not confer qualifications in architecture and the Queensland Architects Act (2002) restricts the use of the title 'Architect' to professionals registered by the Board of Architects of Queensland.
