Graduate Certificate
As the Australian population ages, the need for sustained growth within the aged care industry increases. The healthcare sector is already Australia's largest employer, and with the number of Australians over 65 anticipated to double over the next 40 years, this will naturally lead to a wide array of professional opportunities in the industry.
QUT Online's Graduate Certificate in Gerontology is grounded in the scientific understanding of the ageing process, and ensuring quality of care to older Australians is the best it can possibly be, taking into account physical, psychosocial and culturally safe practices.
Upon completing the Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, you will have a practical overview of the important role healthcare services play in responding holistically to the specific needs of the elderly. This includes chronic illness and injury management, palliative and end-of-life care, and quality and risk management.
Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Gerontology can go on to study the Master of Gerontology.
Please note the first intake of this course is February 2021.
