About this course

This qualification develops the skills and knowledge of those who are working in the travel and tourism industry and for a range of employers such as travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, inbound tour operators, tourist attractions, visitor information centres and other tourism businesses.

This course makes use of the student's workplace experience and is supported by online and some workshop delivery.

What you will learn

Certificate III in Tourism teaches you to use a range of well-developed tourism service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate tourism services. Using discretion and judgment, you will learn to work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

You will learn about work in a variety of tourism sectors and employers including tour operators, inbound tour operators, visitor information centres, attractions, cultural and heritage sites, and any small tourism business.

This qualification allows for multi-skilling and for specialisation in office-based roles involving the planning and coordination of tourism services, or roles in the field where products are delivered.
