The Certificate IV in Mental Health aims to give you the skills and knowledge required to work as a professional in community mental health.
It's suitable for students wishing to gain entry-level positions or those looking to supplement their existing qualifications and build the skills and knowledge to support their existing roles. It is ideal for workers who provide self-directed recovery-oriented support for people affected by mental health and psychiatric disability. This course can also lead to peer support roles where you would need to have a lived experience of mental health issues either personally or through a family member. Successful completion of this course can lead you into a variety of community service roles or higher mental health qualifications.
Minimum age specification of 18 years for entry into course
Students with mental health issues are advised to be at least 12 months into recovery before undertaking this course.
You will also need to provide a police check, NDIS worker screening and a working with children check prior to undertaking placement.
