Entry requirements

Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals. This short course is designed to give qualified technicians the necessary units to apply to the Australian Refrigeration Council for an air conditioning licence. The completion of this qualification enables an individual to apply for an AAC02 - Refrigerant handling licence - qualified persons (Automotive air conditioning licence: 2 years). Previous qualification will be required by ARC and it is the responsibility of the student to comply with and supply information to ARC. Students are already very experienced/qualified technicians employed in the industry. Experience/qualification in the automotive industry will also reduce the time taken to complete units. Students will have higher level knowledge and skills from previous experience/qualifications. Students enrolling into Air Conditioning units will need to be enrolled a minimum of 4 weeks prior to course commencement to ensure time is allowed for the student to gain a "Training Licence". This licence is applied for through the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) and requires students to send a copy of the Confirmation of Enrolment and a passport photo. Licences take a minimum of 2 weeks to process. Students are not legally allowed to undertake practical activities without this licence and will not be allowed in class.
