Certificate
In the Certificate III in Production Nursery learn skills in the production nursery area, such as plant recognition, plant nutrition, propagation techniques and the recognition and management of weeds, pests, diseases and disorders. The nursery industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.
This course is supported by the Nursery and Garden Industry of Victoria.
Students at this level will develop skills to work independently within the production nursery industry. They will be able to propagate a range of plants using basic recognised skills, understand the importance of soil, media and nutritional relationships, recognise a range of plants, and identify and control a range of weeds, pests, diseases and disorders.
The course will be delivered in a variety of study modes, including online, face-to-face and workplace options. The course will be delivered in clusters of common skills required for the qualification. Students are required to complete 16 units (11 core and five elective units).
Credit is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Learn more about credit.
