About this course

 

The Certificate III in Rural Operations provides training, skills and knowledge relevant to the agriculture, horticulture, conservation and land management industry. This is an 18-month part-time course covering a broad variety of outdoors skills.

Depending on the units selected, individuals will be able to seek employment not only in rural industries but also in other industry sectors, such as local government, tourism, hospitality, transport, construction, information technology and metals.
 
 
On completion, students may articulate Diploma courses in Conservation and Land Management, Horticulture, or Landscape Design.

Career pathways

Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to work as a crew member or independently in the outdoor land management industry and may attain certification in occupational health and safety (OHS), chainsaw operation, fire training, AusChem, ladder use, and small machinery.

Course structure

A total of 16 units of competency must be successfully completed, made up of two core units and 14 elective units.

Credit for prior study or work
