In the Diploma of Project Management students develop the practical skills and knowledge required to effectively manage all aspects of a project from start to finish in a range of industry settings. Key areas of focus include project scope, time management, communications, costing, quality and human resources.

The Diploma of Project Management offers a practical, hands-on approach to learning with an emphasis on solving real business problems interwoven with theory and case studies on project management.

This course is recommended for anyone with experience working on a small to medium project, working in a project team aspiring to a project management position, or current project management specialists seeking to formalise their skills and enhance promotional prospects. This diploma is highly suitable for those qualified in other disciplines who want to enhance their skills base by obtaining specialist project management skills.

Graduates develop the ability to lead, plan and execute projects to stringent deadlines and budgets. This is a primary skill in all areas of industry and those who can demonstrate competence in this area are highly attractive to prospective employers.

Course structure

The course comprises 12 units in total, eight core units and four units chosen in consultation with industry. Online delivery is perfect for participants who have experience in project management and can apply learning in their workplace. This online delivery mode includes weekly webinars which particpants are expected to attend. These webinars are where new project management theory is taught and the assessment tasks are explored and explained. Learners have the opportunity for online interaction with their teacher and other learners. An Introductory Workshop is delivered both on-campus and online at the beginning of each term. Those who cannot attend in person can join the workshop online. Completion expected within twelve to eighteen months depending on course load chosen.

Credit for prior study or work
