About this course

The Diploma of Software Development is run as a project-based qualification aimed at having the learner industry ready. The course ensures that graduates have experience developing in industry relevant languages, platforms and practices, with an emphasis on developing their problem-solving and team-work skills. Languages include C#, SQL, T-SQL, HTML5 and CSS3. Platforms include React, Angular, Entity Framework, MS Azure, AWS and Flutter. Languages and frameworks used are highly dependent on student analysis of client needs. Students will develop high-level technical skills, knowledge and fully functional mobile, web, desktop and cloud applications with appropriate levels of mentoring and consultation during the course.

At the completion of this course graduates will be able to:- identify and problem solve complex business and ICT problems - participate effectively in projects that use a variety of methodologies, tools and technical solutions - communicate clear concepts and solutions for complex issues to colleagues and clients by developing written complex technical reports with supporting documentation for business - have developed self-management skills by taking personal responsibility and autonomously performing complex technical operations or organising others - participate in a software development project, design and implement object-oriented software, including software for mobile applications and consider relevant security and usability aspects.
