About this course

VCE Units 1 & 2 (Year 11) and 3&4 (Year 12)

VCE Connect at Swinburne is a complete VCE certificate program offering individualised choices. Our VCE program is designed for students to procure an ATAR if they wish; however, the majority of the students will be prepared for the world of work and life after school without external exams.

As a Swinburne student, your VCE program will utilise and access all the University has to offer. This is the place to learn for those with aspirations in Trades, Engineering, Health Sciences, (including Nursing), Laboratory Skills, Technology, Information and Digital Media. This is a standalone senior secondary program, within Swinburne, offering alternative secondary education to driven students seeking an innovative and individualised experience.

An exciting course that's engaging and technology rich, VCE at Swinburne has a strong vocational focus, and allows students to gain practical experience in the areas that interest them most.

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is a senior secondary certificate of education recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It is designed to be completed over a minimum of two years, and includes general education curriculum components (VCE studies), programs and/or training.

Each VCE study is designed to provide a two-year program. Studies at Unit 1 and Unit 2 level are nationally and internationally benchmarked to a Year 11 standard, and further are benchmarked to a Year 12 standard. Units 1 and 2 can be completed as single units and further units in each study, are designed to be taken in sequence during the one year.

VCE is delivered under the authority of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and follows the policies and procedures outlined in the 'VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2019'. VCE information can also be found at the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) website.

Results and certificates
VCE results and certificates, where students have met all eligibility criteria, are issued directly by the VCAA. Results and certificates are sent once only, in late December, by the VCAA to Swinburne University of Technology for distribution to students. The University sends results and certificates to the student postal address on the enrolment record.

The VCE program at Swinburne University of Technology promote the principles and practice of Australian democracy, including a commitment to: elected government; the rule of law; equal rights for all before the law; freedom of religion; freedom of speech and association; the values of openness and tolerance.

VCE is delivered under the authority of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and follows the policies and procedures outlined in the 'VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2019'. VCAL information for students and parents can also be found at the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) website.
