Certificate II (Access) outcomes focus on the development of English language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills directly related to immediate personal and social needs together with electives selected to develop relevant social, settlement and numeracy skills and knowledge. The purpose of this qualification is preparation for participation in further English language study or vocational training which may include English language support or employment.
You'll meet new people, learn about local services and explore your further study options and career opportunities. Learn more about Australian customs, money, education, health, transport, leisure, law and community and employment.
When you finish this course, you will be able to apply for further study and improve on your English skills. You may be eligible to study in 22486VIC Certificate III in EAL. Each of these courses will give you further English skills and improve your confidence. TAFE Gippsland will be here to help you with all of your options when you're ready.
Workforce Australia Participants studying within the Courses in Spoken and Written English will meet the following Points Target and minimum job search requirement;

Entry to each EAL Course in / qualification must be determined according to the following criteria:
At completion of the Certificate II in EAL (Access) , students can enrol in Certificate III EAL At the completion of Certificate III in English as Another Language (or earlier) students can apply for further study in any chosen area. For example, Aged Care. Or apply directly for jobs in their chosen field.
