Certificate
Do you love working with your hands? Are you someone who enjoys seeing their work come to life? Then why not start your career as a qualified cabinet maker with this exciting and focused apprenticeship course.
You'll gain skills that will allow you to make furniture, build bathrooms and kitchens and use innovative technology to design whatever you put your mind to. Not only that, you'll learn how to repair fine timber products, produce manual and computer-aided sketches and build free-standing furniture.
Taught over three to four years in both the workplace and on campus, this course is designed so you can work and learn at the same time, gaining real-world experience and earning money at the same time.
For the classroom component, you'll attend 10 x three day blocks per year (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3) for the duration of the apprenticeship. These learning days are designed to make sure your skills are where they should be and our teachers will be here to support you through that every step of the way.
The career opportunities once you complete your apprenticeship really are endless. From working as a cabinet maker, to even becoming self-employed in the future. And if you decide you'd like to take your career further, you can study a Certificate IV Building and Construction, or a Diploma of Building and Construction (not offered at TAFE Gippsland).
Both of these courses will add to your skillset, giving your more expertise and increasing your employment opportunities - and we will be here to support you through the decision-making process when and if the time comes.
Go on, get started in this exciting industry and let your creativity shine while you help people bring their vision to life.
Certificate III in Cabinet Making will provide you with the qualification as a Cabinet Maker with the opportunity to be employed as tradesperson Cabinetmaker and future opportunities to become self employed.
