Prepare yourself to work as education support workers in a primary or secondary school setting, assisting teachers in supporting the learning of students, often those requiring additional support and/or with a disability or additional learning needs in the classroom.
Delivered via a combination of online study, face-to-face workshops and work placement in a primary or secondary school, you'll need a laptop with a camera to bring to class, access to the internet at home for online study, have digital literacy skills to enable them to work independently with Moodle and the literacy skills to independently access course readings and other learning materials. Microsoft Office 365 skills are a must!

A Certificate III in School Based Education Support will give you the skills to assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings. You'll also complete general administrative as well as operational tasks to support students with learning under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional.
To achieve this qualification, you will need to have completed a total of at least 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students within at least one school in Australia.

Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
This course will equip you with the skills to work with teachers, primary and secondary school students, their families and other professionals in a school setting. Students will develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to provide enriching, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences and a supportive learning environment for primary and secondary school students.
You will develop knowledge in childhood development, literacy, and numeracy development, behaviour management strategies, policy and legislation and curriculum implementation. Through both the classroom and practical placements students will have the opportunity to set up learning experiences, become familiar with relevant policy and procedures, and how to provide a safe learning and work environment.
