About this course

Want to move your career into the community service and health industry? We can help you do it with a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (Traineeship).

You'll learn to design, implement and evaluate leisure and health activities and programs across many sectors, including residential facilities, community agencies and day centres; all while gaining the knowledge and practical skills to work with people who have complex needs.

Not only that, by the end of this course, you'll be able to plan and conduct exciting activities and learn to confirm the physical health status of the people you're helping - sounds pretty rewarding to us.

Once you complete this course, you'll have the skills to move into the industry, working in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, while completing specialised tasks and functions relating to leisure and health.

Entry requirements

  • Completed LLN assessment level required for a Certificate IV level
  • Provide Police Check in each year of placement (without disclosures)
  • Provide Working with Children's Check (without disclosures)
  • Minimum age - 18
  • Flu vaccination in current year of placement
  • COVID vaccination - triple dose (From 17 September 2021, COVID-19 vaccination will be mandatory for all residential aged care workers)
  • Must be able to attend class 2 days per week as per the timetable (Face to Face x1 and online x1) unless under a traineeship model
  • Complete 120 hours placement as arranged by TAFE Gippsland (Traineeship completed in the workplace)
  • Prospective student to complete online application form
