About this course

There are two levels of tasks that are completed by Riggers; basic and intermediate. In this course, you'll learn the entry-level skills required to work as a Rigger in construction sites, mines and maritime ports. This license is mandatory if you plan on carrying out any rigging work in Victoria and can be followed by the intermediate rigging license.

Gain additional training in movement of plant and equipment, erecting structural steel, using hoists, placing pre-cast concrete, using safety nets and static lines, and much more. This course will allow you to confidently and safely enter the industry of your choice as a Rigger.

A licence to perform High Risk Work is issued by WorkSafe Victoria. On successful completion of this course, you can apply to WorkSafe Victoria for a license to perform high risk work. Entry requirements

This unit has a pre-requisite requirement. This requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging or holding a valid licence for dogging.

Career pathways

On completion of this course, and making application to WorkSafe Victoria for a High Risk Work Licence in the class of Rigging Basic (RB) , holders of this class of High Risk Work Licence are able to begin working on constructions sites as a basic rigger. This licence is also the pre-requisite to be able to undertake further training as an Intermediate Rigger.
