Embark on a dynamic career in the automotive technology field. Get hands on with our practical training to diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify automotive electrical and mechanical systems.
You will gain the skills to identify faults in braking systems, fuel systems, transmission and driveline systems and steering and suspension systems, and decide on the best course of action to repair these issues using environmentally sustainable work practices. On completion you will also be able to develop and document specifications and procedures, and overhaul engines and associated engine components.
Completing this course will give you the knowledge and some of the skills of an automotive mechanic, however you will not receive a trade certificate or be able to work as a fully qualified mechanic without achieving the provisional skills assessment requirements of Trades Recognition Australia. An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Completion of AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis is required for entry into this course.

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in all 12 units listed below. These 12 units are comprised of 1 core unit and 11 elective units. Elective units have been selected in consultation with industry.
Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved. Fees paid by international students are set on a commercial basis and are paid as a whole of course fee - no refund will apply to credit transfers.
