Begin your career in the health industry with this qualification. You will learn about the musculoskeletal system and treatment options to improve clients' health and wellbeing. This course covers several different types of massage techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point, manual lymph drainage, myofascial, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF advanced massage technique used to help reset muscle holding patterns) and a range of specialised treatments for people with chronic health conditions.
During this course you will acquire a vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as effective communication skills to deal with clients, health professionals and the health system. This will ensure a sound understanding of working safely and ethically in the healthcare environment. With a very practical and hands on skills training approach, you will have weekly access to a Live Works Clinic at each campus which has been developed to simulate the workplace. Opportunities may arise where you can be part of external sporting events to provide support and in some cases have access to offsite facilities and resources which will be beneficial to your studies.
On completion of this course, you will have the skills to assess each client's needs and plan and conduct remedial massage using a wide range of techniques.
An IELTS score (academic) of 6.0 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.
Equivalent to Australian Year 11 with passes in English.

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 21 units. These 21 are comprised of 18 core units and 3 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.
Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved. Fees paid by international students are set on a commercial basis and are paid as a whole of course fee - no refund will apply to credit transfers.
